U.S. Marine Corps Brig. Gen. David C. Hyman, the commanding general of Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego and the Western Recruiting Region, and Sgt. Maj. Oranjel Leavy, the sergeant major of MCRDSD and WRR, deliver the MCRDSD Birthday Ball message honoring the pivotal transformation every Marine undergoes and the Marines, Sailors, and civilians who make it possible. The Marine Corps birthday, Nov. 10, 1775, is celebrated every year to commemorate the establishment of the Corps and to honor the service and sacrifices of all Marines, past and present.

The new Marines of Mike Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, graduated from Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Nov. 21, 2025. Graduation took place at the completion of the 13-week transformation which included training for drill, marksmanship, basic combat skills, and Marine Corps customs and traditions. Following graduation, the Marines were given 10 days of leave before taking the next step in training at the School of Infantry at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California.

The Total Force Integrator (TFI) initiative establishes a cadre of Active Reserve (AR) Marines trained to plan, coordinate, and execute full-spectrum total force integration across the Marine Corps who will serve as the connective tissue between the Active and Reserve components—ensuring the service can mobilize, train, and deploy as one cohesive force during large-scale combat operations or national crises. Through this initiative, 43 Active Reserve Marines, officers and enlisted, will be assigned to billets across the headquarters organizations, Marine Expeditionary Forces (MEFs), and Marine Forces Commands (MARFORs) to align manpower, readiness, and operational planning across the total force. First lady of the United States, Mrs. Melania Trump, and second lady of the United States, Mrs. Usha Vance, address service members and their families at Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) New River in Jacksonville, North Carolina, Nov.19, 2025. Trump and Mrs. Usha Vance made their first visit to a military installation under the second Trump Administration to show appreciation for military families and those who serve this holiday season. During their visit they spent time with students creating holiday crafts and building care packages for deployed service members.
