MACS-2 provides ground based, air task-oriented radar picture and command and control function in support of air to air, surface to air, and surface to surface fires. Formidable Shield is a biennial, integrated air and missile defense (IAMD) exercise involving a series of live-fire events against subsonic, supersonic, and ballistic targets, incorporating multiple Allied ships, aircraft, and ground forces working across battle spaces to deliver effects.
