The Marine Corps Mentoring Program (MCMP) was developed by Headquarters, USMC to retain and help the career progression of a highly diverse and competent workforce.
Why does mentoring matter?
A mentoring relationship is formed between a seasoned professional (the mentor) who provides guidance, knowledge-sharing, and development opportunities to a less experienced employee (the mentee). A committed mentor can positively affect the mentee’s personal growth over time. Mentoring is an effective way to foster career development and enhance learning between colleagues at different stages of their career.
